Kilimanjaro Climbing & Mount kenya Climbing

Mount kenya Climbing

– For 4 days and 3 nights we will climb Mount Kenya, the second highest mountain in Africa after Mount Kilimanjaro in neighbouring Tanzania. Demanding but rewarding, this route will give us unforgettable moments and panoramic views.

  • Day 1. Journey to M.Kenya and start of the trek Around 7 in the morning our guide will pick you up at your hotel to take us from Nairobi to the Sirimon entrance gate of Mount Kenya NP (2600 m), where the porters and the cook will be waiting to begin the ascent. We will travel by local transport (matatu) with our guide from Nairobi to Sirimon Gate, it is 225 km and the journey takes between 4-5 hours. Once we reach the park gate we will begin the walk of approximately 10 km that will take us 3-4 hours and a difference in altitude of 740 m. We will sleep in Old Moses Hut (3340 m).
  • Day 2: ascent by the Sirimon route After breakfast we will begin the second day of trekking from Old Moses Hut (3340 m) to Shipton’s Camp (4236 m). This stage is harder, it is approximately 7 or 8 hours of walking with a gradient of about 900 meters. When we reach our second base camp, if the day is clear, we will see the impressive views of the central massif. We recommend going to rest early because the next day we will have to get up very early and go to the summit.
  • Day 3: summit day (Point Lenana, 4985 m) We will get up at dawn, around 2:00 a.m. to reach the summit of Point Lenana (4985m) and see the sunrise from there. A magical moment. There is a gradient of 749m to the summit and once we reach it, and after taking some photographs, we will descend along the Naro Moru route to Mackinder’s Camp (4200m), where we will spend the night.
  • Day 4: Descent via the Naro Moru route and return to Nairobi Final day of walking, lasting between 6 and 7 hours, in which we will descend from Mackinder’s Camp (4200m) to the town of Naro Moru, at 1982m. Here we will take a matatu to return to Nairobi in the afternoon. We will spend the night in a hotel in Nairobi.
